How do you apply pencil eye liner to...?

my top eyelid!

i cant put my eye liner on top it doesn't work that well for me and i only have the pencil type.

also if you know how i can get my eye liner VERY dark it'd be very helpful because I love dark eyes they look so nice but i don't know how to do them.

thanks again for any help :)How do you apply pencil eye liner to...?
First off, I suggest purchasing a liquid liner for your

top lid. Pencil usually tends to smudge, and if you have

oily lids (which you really wouldn't know unless your

eyeshadow creased), it'll make it even worse.

But if you're really determined to use your pencil..

I have some tips that can help you out :)

Tip # 1 -

Do NOT (I repeat, NOT) tug on your eyes..

whether you are applying liner to your top lid or

your bottom. It might be a slight bit easier to apply

it that way, but you will get premature wrinkles

and sags under your eyes.

Use a q-tip to gently life up the excess skin from your

lid (sounds kind of gross, I know.) and draw in your line.

Tip # 2 -

Break down your lines.

By doing the ';one stroke'; method, you are more likely

to mess up; and if you're anything like me, you'll be too

lazy to re-touch it and just try to dab it with your finger.

All that will do is smudge your liner and give you raccoon

like eyes.

Tip # 3 -

Start in the middle of your lid.

For a lot of people, this tends to be a lot easier. I honestly

don't know the answer to why that is, but whatever

works.

Tip # 4 -

Keep your eyes open!

Now I'm not taking wide eyed, deer in the head lights kind

of open.. but slightly open.

For some people, their eyelids tends to be a lot droopier

and the only thing you can do is color over the droopy lid

because if you don't, you won't be able to see your liner.

And last but not least..

Tip # 5 -

For a darker, more dramatic eye..

Use a good dark mascara. Apply however many coats

you would like, just don't apply too much to the point

where it gets clumpy and icky. May I suggest, Voluminous

Carbon black by Loreal?

Also, to keep your liner dark and dramatic you must

1) do the obvious.. purchase a BLACK liner.

2) draw it on (using my suggested tips if you want :P )

3) set it with a black eyeshadow.

Just make sure you have a good black eyeshadow that

wont give you many fall outs (such as Mac)

I`m sorry this is so long.. ): I hope it informed you though! How do you apply pencil eye liner to...?
Make sure the pencil is very pigmented to begin with, and simply draw a line as close to your lashes as possible using small strokes to be more precise. Go over as many times as you'd like to get the darkness you want.

Also, make sure the two lines (top and bottom) meet up at the outer corner of your eye, otherwise it doesn't look quite complete.

Note: Try to avoid pulling on your eyelids, as that can cause premature wrinkles and aging. :) It isn't necessary.
to get used to it, what I did was get a pencil that was smudge-able. Then you pull your eye tight (to the side) and sketch it across as if you were sketching a picture. don't try all the line at once. if you get the smudge kind, then when you mess up just smudge it in and go overtop of it. Then you can blend together your eyemakeup with your eyeliner, too. For a darker line, i'd suggest the blackest eyeliner and the thickest line. I tried liquid eyeliner, that's pretty dark
~Have a good sharpened/but slightly dulled liner

~pull lid taut

~Start from the middle and make small lines to either end of the eye

~then connect the lines! Just like in kindergarten!! haha

Also putting a mirror on the counter will force you to look down, so that'll be easier. And remmeber it DEF takes practice!! It has taken me a while. After experimenting, I have found that I prefer liquid liner for the top. Loreal Lineur liquid is great for that :) You can just turn it side-ways on the lid and drag :D

If that doesn't help, try youtube! I %26lt;3 it! IT helps me tons.

xsparkage has a good one and gobs of other gals! Check out makeupbyclaire and makeupblogger's tutorial! It's awesome!

MEssage me w/ any questions!

Oh p.s. Don't start off w/ heavy!!! It doesn't help!
Either get an eyeliner that goes on easy (I strongly reccomend CoverGirl that clicks up) or heat your eyeliner up a bit (warm water with lid on or blow dryer for a few seconds). Then pretty much aim for the base of your eyelashes, works really well when the eyeliner goes on easily! Use a q-tip with makeup remover when you make mistakes.
the best way i can help u is by telling u to check out the link i'm going to give u i promise this girl is really good with make up good luck ok
i know me too ive watched videos on youtube %26amp; everything i just cant do it!

go to youtube and type in ';how to apply black eyeliner';
pull the side of your eye until it closes and put the eyeliner on the top. it makes it so much smoother when you stretch your eyelid
pull the skin next to your eye over to the side of your head to where it is closed, by force haha(from you pulling), and then applyyy
